Lessons We Enjoyed
This month learned about symmetry. Below you can see screenshots from the pdf file we used from the Math Guide, Play 35.
I used a piece of cardboard with a line drawn down the middle for our play board. While playing we used the key word {symmetry} and discussed the meaning. Learning difficult words comes much easier when natural language is used while playing.
She really enjoyed copying my designs.
We made a few letters and discussed how some letters are symmetrical and some aren’t!
Once she grasped the concept, she made some designs for me to copy.
The following day we worked on the same concept with a different set. I took a small video for you to show her in action.
Free Play
Free play happens quite a bit, I just don’t always get photos! Here’s a few I captured of her enjoying our set as she explored freely.

She also still enjoys the guides, and uses the iPad to get ideas. Here she was building with one of the new sets in version 4.0, you can see how she enlarged the image in the iPad to help her get it correct.
